Google added traffic data to Google Maps from yesterday. Data are now available only for the USA but it is planned to offer data for other countries ine the near future. This feature is very important as Google Maps are nowadays used by many drivers and they are embeded in lot of mobile phones (including iPhone) and other palm and pocket pc devices. Traffic data are real-time and there are three indications: red which means that you will be stucked in traffic, yellow medium traffic and green for low or no traffic.
